HOW DOES THIS AFFECT ME?

Whether you work for the state, a county or a municipal or local government, school district or private employer, the harsh economy has affected your employers budgets. These days, we face wage reductions, layoffs, furloughs, increased healthcare premiums and reductions of coverage, prescriptions we take are taken from our plans and other measures which reduce the quality of life for our families.

AFSCME Council 81 conducted a series of three Town Hall meetings on May 4, 5 and 7th in all three counties to hear your concerns and allowing you to "Lift Your Voices" along with experts in the field so that we may inform our elected officials and decision makers with the results.

A PowerPoint presentation of the Town Hall meetings capsulizes the meeting. We thank the members who told their stories at these meetings and we are sending a packet with these stories along with your story and a picture of you and your family to our elected officials so they will see the faces of those who are affected by their decisions.
